SciFinder is a graphical interface for searching the Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) databases, covering the scientific literature of chemistry and related fields from over 10,000 journals and 50 patent sources, and including information on 37 million chemical substances, 15 million chemical reactions and 23 million commercially available chemicals. SciFinder now available to the Cornell community in web and client software versions featuring smart keyword, structure and substructure searching and advanced results analysis tools. Leah Solla is the chemistry librarian for Cornell and the site administrator for SciFinder at Cornell and teaches many classes for researchers across Cornell on making the most of this resource.

Microsoft Office 2008 (PC) from 9am-11am and Microsoft Office 2007 (MAC) from 1pm -3pm September 25th - - Jordan Hall Staff Room

Microsoft Offce 2007 and 2008 are major redesigns for the MS Office Suite. In addition to a redesigned interface there are also new looks and behaviors, and new file types. We'll look at the changes to Microsoft Office overall, and the steps you'll have to take to maintain compatibility with users of Office 97 - 2004. We will also look at the changes to the three most popular Office application: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
